Asphalt roofing Recycling

About Us

Asphalt Roofing Recycling (ARR) is a clean technology firm specializing in asphalt roofing recycling. Recycled asphalt shingles are used in the following applications;

  • In asphalt pavement to replace virgin asphalt cement
  • In gravelled yards as dust control
  • In cold road patch for pothole repair

Reduce -Reuse-Recycle

Each year approximately 12 million tonnes of asphalt shingle waste is generated in North America. Currently, most of this waste goes into landfills. At ARR, we are fueling the sustainability drive and have developed a way to reuse this material and at the same time reduce your costs!

The average home contains about 3 tonnes of asphalt shingles. Help keep this material out of landfills by making sure your shingles are recycled.

Frequently Asked Questions

No, we recycle only asphalt shingles. We do not accept flat roofing, roll roofing, tile roofs, cedar shakes, cedar shingles, rubber roofs or metal roofs.
Each load will be inspected to confirm that it contains only shingles and debris from the roofing job. This includes flashing and drip edge, pallets, small amounts of wood, and plastic from the shingle delivery. We ask that you place the shingles on the bottom of the load and all other debris on top for easy sorting.

Although we offer considerable savings as compared to taking this material to a landfill, there is still a disposal cost. We have four rates: Shingle only loads are the lowest rate; self-serve sorted loads where you unload the metal, wood, garbage and shingle into their respective bunkers or bins are the next higher rate; sorted loads where we do the separation are the next higher rate; and unsorted loads are the highest rate. Please see the link to your desired location for current rates.

No, ARR does not provide bin rentals.

If you are a homeowner and a roofing contractor is replacing your roof, ask your contractor to dispose of the shingles at one of our locations. If you are a roofer with your own dump trailer or dump truck, then start saving today by coming to our nearest location. If you are a roofer and you use a bin service, then ask your hauler to bring your shingles to our nearest location and pass the savings on to you.

We issue a scale ticket for every load we take in. You can stipulate to your roofer that you will need to see this scale ticket after your shingles have been disposed of.
